Kimani is the offspring of Kit and Kiki. Kira is her sister. She likes to play with Little Joe and Kira. Kira was allowed to carry her before Kiki allowed any of the other gorillas to do so.

As an infant, Kimani was diagnosed with metabolic bone disease, a vitamin D deficiency, and she still receives weekly supplements. Thanks to their successful training of Kiki, zookeepers are able to treat Kimani without separating her from her mother.
