Kira is the offspring of Kit and Kiki, and she was parent-raised. She’s already learning mothering skills from her mom, Kiki. If something frightens the gorillas, she will grab her baby sister Kimani in an effort to protect her. Kira and Kimani are also play companions.

Like her father, Kit, Kira also likes water. Kira also likes to build big hay nests. Her mother, Kiki, has been described as the group’s queen, and Kira is definitely the princess. Zookeepers say she is just like her mother.
